Review: Handmade Blanket by NinnyBaby

Recently I was given the opportunity to review a handmade crochet blanket made by NinnyBaby. I absolutely love handmade products so was very excited and jumped at the chance. My first task was to select which blanket we wanted to try from Ninny’s Etsy Shop. I already have a 2 year old daughter and at first I was drawn towards to the gorgeous  Baby & Toddler Pink Crochet Blanket with Green/ Rose Print Brushed Cotton however with another baby on the way and with us not knowing whether we were expecting a boy or a girl I decided to opt for something more unisex as I would be able to use the blanket for the baby once they arrived, so after further debate I finally decided on the Baby & Toddler Red Crochet Blanket with Vintage Children’s Illustrative Inspired Fabric.

I placed my order and eagerly awaited for it to arrive. A few days later there was a knock at the door and there was a courier stood holding a box. I was pleasantly surprised by the way that the blanket had been packaged up and delivered. I’m not sure why but I half expected it to arrive in a parcel bag or something similar. When opening the box you could see the care that had been put into the packaging and included on the top was a small compliments slip with all Ninny’s contact details. As I carefully peeled back the tissue paper, I found the most gorgeous blanket.

I was so happy with the design that I had chosen and in particular I loved the vintage design of the fabric, the blanket itself felt soft, perfect for little people’s skin.

What I love about the blanket is its size as it was perfect for Gracie to snuggle up under on the sofa. I also really like the fabric backing as I feel that it could double up as a mat too, which will be perfect for the baby when they arrive, particularly when we are visiting other people and I need somewhere to lay / sit them.

These blankets currently retail at £30.00 which I think considering the care and time that goes into making each one is a bargain. I really do feel that we will keep this blanket in our family for many years and although I’m happy for Gracie to keep it warm until the baby arrives I do plan on packing it in my hospital bag. I am having a winter baby and I think the blanket will be perfect for wrapping them up in as we bring them home :)

Disclaimer: I was sent the blanket free of charge for the purpose of this review however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
